We also provide formal training, career development and the chance to build consulting expertise across a range of interesting and challenging projects.
We are looking for a senior consultant with four to five years’ work experience in the private or public sector to join our Sydney team. We are seeking someone with formal qualifications in urban planning or economics (or a similar quantitative field), who has experience in leading a small multidisciplinary team, and the ability to use data and economic models to provide spatially focused investment and policy insights to clients.
Our team strives to use the latest data, research and analytical tools to address real-world problems and provide insightful public policy advice to our clients. We are looking for someone who is highly competent in collecting and preparing data from established and novel data sources; and who is able to use established, and develop new, economic models that can be used to inform policy and investment decisions across a range of sectors.
This position would suit an urban planner or economist with experience applying evidence-led analysis to spatial and infrastructure issues. It requires a balance of writing and presentation skills, analytical skills, team management and, importantly, a passion for the informing policy in the public interest.
Experience with economic evaluation - Cost-Benefit Analysis, Economic Impact Assessment and other modelling approaches will also be highly regarded. Experience in GIS and digital analytical platforms is desirable. In addition, applicants will need to have experience in project management and preparing high quality engaging reports, presentations, and proposals for clients.
Highly desirable applicants are those who can demonstrate both strong technical capabilities and the ability to extract and communicate the economic narrative and policy implications from their work. Applicants need to show a keen interest in major economic, societal, environmental and policy issues and be able to work autonomously and alongside a passionate team of professionals from varied backgrounds.
While based in our Sydney office, you will work with clients across Australia and New Zealand and, on occasion, elsewhere internationally.
If this role sounds like you, please send a cover letter and resume that addresses the role requirements to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note, our offices will be closed from Friday 25th December 2020 and will reopen Monday 11th January 2021. Applications for this role will be responded to from the 11th of January 2021.
Note: All applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
