Rhys is an economist working to positively influence public policy and shape better outcomes for cities, regions and people.

He specialises in economic and financial appraisals, land use forecasting, and retail analysis. A lot of his work hours are spent analysing the dynamic between land use and transport within an urban context and understanding the drivers of economic growth for both cities and regional areas.

Rhys has worked on many economic and financial assessments - ranging from policy initiatives to infrastructure projects - which include quantitively assessing costs and benefits, impacts of economic stimuli, and changes in land use across both smaller regional economies and state-wide economies. He has helped inform important projects across Australia, from developing an infrastructure model for one of the world's largest urban development precincts to preparing school enrolment projections across an entire state.

Keen to share his knowledge, Rhys is a frequent presenter at industry conferences and seminars. He was also a contributing author on Australia’s Metropolitan Imperative: An Agenda for Governance Reform, published by CSIRO.

Rhys' hidden superpower is his competitive nature, which really shines when he plays board games, futsal and table tennis.
