Merle is a planner interested in how cities function, the role of urban policy, and how ideas and action affect liveability and sustainability.

With significant experience in research, demographics and land use planning in the private and not for profit sectors as well as in the Victorian State Government – Merle has developed excellent written communication, visual representation and research skills throughout her career.

Merle's experience is varied and includes projects based around planning, urban development, stakeholder engagement and qualitative research and climate change. Merle is also part of the LGiU commissioning team producing team briefings, case studies and blogs on local government in Australia.

Merle enjoys her (albeit short) ride through Melbourne to and from work every day - even in bad weather - and running on the weekends, usually while listening to podcasts.
