A short course for local government

The purpose of this course is to teach local government employees in Victoria to prepare, monitor and maintain Development Contribution Plans (DCPs). The course is dynamic, presenting on conceptual principles, reviewing common practices and desirable strategies to successfully operate a DCP. Attendees will apply the learnt material through exercises using MS Excel and ShapeVic, a tool delivered by SGS Economics and Planning to model DCPs for the Victoria context. The course will equip attendees with a full understanding of existing options for funding infrastructure under the Planning and Environment Act, when to use them, how to produce a DCP and how to administer and monitor their operation.
