Dr Clive Hamilton, Executive Director of the Australia Institute and author of "Growth Fetish" was guest speaker at the launch of SGS's Canberra office, held at Old Parliament House in Canberra on 17 August. Dr Hamilton sized up planning and consultancies from the perspective of an economist who is wary of consumption-driven and growth-obsessed economies.
Paul Howorth, who previously worked closely with SGS Brisbane, is managing the Canberra office. Paul is a strategic planner and barrister, with specialist expertise in housing policy development and evaluation, stakeholder and community consultation, urban economics, and planning and environmental law. SGS's current Canberra projects are focused on funding review for the community housing sector, cultural facilities planning and regional planning.
