SGS advice informs and develops South Australian Government's vision on Tonsley Park

Over recent years, SGS has been advising the South Australian State Government on the potential redevelopment of Tonsley Park, the former Mitsubishi site, in southern Adelaide. Our advice has informed and developed the Government's vision for the site, which is to create a centre of cleantech, sustainable technologies and environmental industries, advanced manufacturing and research and development.

Our advice included:

• Establishing a policy framework for the site's redevelopment which would ensure the SA Government's vision was realised;
• Assessing the economic impacts of such a redevelopment, i.e. in terms of SA incomes, jobs and market positioning; and
• Weighing the costs and benefits of the site's redevelopment, i.e. in terms of the productivity enhancements and overall welfare impacts that the vision would generate for South Australian residents.
