There has been a recent resurgence of interest by all spheres of government, particularly the Commonwealth Government, in the development of regional policies. Economic and social drivers including new technologies, new production methods, new lifestyle preferences and demographic changes are all impacting on regional economies.
The speakers at this SGS quarterly seminar held at the National Press Club Canberra on 29 November 2010, came from diverse backgrounds. Their presentations covered different aspects of regional development and engagement, including:
