The SGS Partners are pleased to announce Liz Mackevicius and Yuan Deng as Partners.
Liz has been with SGS since 2015. Her professionalism and approach to both her project and administrative work has seen her quickly rise to Senior Associate and Melbourne Practice Leader. Liz’s projects at SGS have seen her work across Australia and New Zealand, and the experience she brings has led her to become a trusted advisor to clients.
Yuan has been with SGS for eight years and is highly respected both within and outside of SGS. Yuan is a senior leader in the Sydney office and has been a key driver of SGS’s transition towards digital technologies and spatial analysis, most recently with his Education Cluster model. Yuan is a respected mentor, taking time to work with and develop junior staff across the many projects he has been involved in.
Jeremy Gill, SGS Partner Convenor, said “SGS continues to grow its partnership base in line with our ‘college of professionals’ philosophy. Liz and Yuan meet all of the criteria for inclusion in the Partnership group including demonstrating a strong commitment to the collegiate and public interest values of the firm. We now have 18 Partners who are the current and future custodians of the firm, as we strive to provide Australia's best independent policy advice”
SGS Economics and Planning has three characteristics which make it unique amongst consulting firms:
- SGS is first and foremost for the public interest. We run a business to support our practice in public policy, rather than doing public policy as a business.
- SGS is not about building capital value for an ownership group within the company. Our purpose is to positively influence public policy. Business surpluses are managed in this light, including a priority to invest in our people across the full spectrum of consulting and support staff.
- SGS has a mutualised ownership structure, and once employees have demonstrated proficiency in consulting and/or a commitment to the values and purpose of SGS, they are invited to join the partnership ranks of the company.
