Dr Marcus Spiller addresses the ‘Supermarket Power Symposium'

SGS Principal and Partner, Dr Marcus Spiller, addressed the ‘Supermarket Power Symposium’ hosted by the University of Melbourne on October 27, 2017 at the State Library of Victoria.

The Symposium explored market concentration in the supermarket industry in Australia, and discussed appropriate policy responses. Dr Spiller’s presentation focussed on urban development facets of the question and, in particular, the tendency for town planning controls to entrench the power of supermarkets versus High Street shopping and traditional fresh-food markets.
