Andrew McDougall presents at 2017 National Markets Conference

Andrew McDougall presented at the National Markets Conference 2017, held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

This was the third time that major public markets in Australia have had an opportunity to meet and share ideas, learn from local and international industry experts and work towards strengthening the position of public markets in the global retail landscape.

Andrew presented on the value of public markets, helping the market operators understand how to:

  • Compile a robust business case for public funding
  • Appreciate the three different forms of economic analysis that inform public business cases:
    • Financial analysis
    • Cost benefit analysis
    • Economic impact analysis.

Andrew drew from the full business case for the renewal of the Queen Victoria Market precinct in Melbourne, which SGS recently led on behalf of the City Of Melbourne.
