Brisbane Airport has the potential to directly and indirectly contribute an estimated $17.2 billion to the economy of South East Queensland within 20 years, and create more than 180,000 jobs as a result of economic multipliers or "flow-ons" throughout the region. The forecast is contained in an economic impact study by SGS Economics & Planning, which was presented to Brisbane City Council as part of an historic Civic Cabinet meeting at the Airport's International Terminal.
